As the name suggests, Finnmaster boats come from the far north, specifically from Kokkola in Finland, which is located on the west coast, around 400 kilometres north of Helsinki. This is where the manufacturer Oy Finn-Marin Ltd. is based, which produces the Grandezza and Finnmaster brands.
Our test boat is the Finnmaster S6, a 6-metre sports boat with a console steering position (roughly amidships), which offers plenty of space for the crew in the bow and stern - up to eight people are permitted. They sit aft on a bench that runs across the entire width of the boat and in the bow on a seating area on the starboard side that can be converted into a sunbed.
The upholstery is moderately firm and can be fastened with press studs. A table which, together with the swivelling driver and passenger seats and the rear bench, turns the aft cabin into a cosy corner for socialising is available for an extra charge. If you want to keep drinks and snacks cool, you can also order a portable (18 litres) or permanently installed (30 litres) cooling unit.
You can get into the refreshing water via a split bathing platform with self-draining stowage boxes under the lid. On the starboard side is the approximately 0.25 m wide bathing ladder with curved handrails on both sides (like a ladder in a swimming pool), which guarantees easy ascent and descent.
If you want to tow wakeboarders or similar behind you, you can attach the line to the trailer eyelets with a so-called Hahnepot. The version on our test boat is even more professional. A special water ski bracket is available here, but costs extra.
