It has been around three years since theBauhaus I got to see the first plastic boats and, of course, was able to buy them. Since then, the product range has steadily expanded; the latest addition is the 560 Top Fisher. It also comes from the companyPegacuslike the other glass fibre reinforced boats.
Three fishing friends in the cockpit? Fits "thick" ...
The Top Fisher below deck is divided into a bow berth (1.40 m x 1.60 m) and the wheelhouse, which at 1.95 m is aAttractive headroom offers. This is where the carpool retreats in bad weather to take a break or to ride sheltered behind the untinted windscreen.
In rainy weather and splash water, a double-arm wiper provides the necessary visibility. The wiping area is sufficiently large; special praise is due to theWashing system and defroster nozzles (only in conjunction with the heating).
The highlight is the driving position, which can be pulled backwards in a few simple steps.
The driver and front passenger sit on bucket seats that can be swivelled and pushed forwards and backwards. They both place their feet on a kind of bench, while the sidepronounced upholstery Stop. Practical for travelling standing up: The front half of the seat cushion can be folded up.
Visibility is only restricted when seated: When travelling at low speed, the instrument panel is still partially in the field of vision; to have a clear view, you have to make a long neck. Apart from a few reflections, the driver can read the instruments clearly, aThe equipment deserves particular praise the go-fishing version with fishfinder (Lowrance Hook 7) and compass.
However, the biggest highlight of the driver's cab is itsVariability: It can be slid aft to the height of the cab door and locked in place in a few simple steps.
This means that the skipper has excellent contact with his fishing friends and can coordinate all activities with them. A nice side effect: it is also in the fresh air and in the sun. The view from there through the windscreen is fine during the day. Another option: lean a little to one side and look past the cab on the right.
We drove and measured our test model on the Baltic Sea off Warnemünde. Before we started, however, we had to sail down the Warnow from Rostock, which of course can only be done slowly. On the outward journey, we travelled with wind and waves. The hull yawed back and forth quite a bit and we had to make some corrections; this, in turn, must only be done carefully, otherwise the boat would be damaged.overshoots the mark and completely misses the mark.
The hull is more stable against waves and wind. Weight shifts by one person only have a minor effect on the course, but have a noticeable influence on the heel.
On the Baltic Sea, we put the lever on the table and the 115-hp Tohatsu takes the Pegazus from around 2000 to 3600 rpm fromDisplacement in gliding mode. A phase that doesn't happen particularly quickly, but takes place without any major visual obstructions for stationary drivers. Under land, we fully utilise the Top Fisher - thePower trim must only be raised very slightly, otherwise the boat will quickly start to rock - and reach just under 31 knots at 4950 rpm.
This value is in the lower third of the recommended full load speed and makes the boat/engine combination aeconomical team. In figures: 1.09 l/sm run through the fuel line at an economical gliding speed (just under 19 kn at 3500 rpm), which with a tank capacity of 135 litres minus 15% reserve gives a range of exactly 105 nm.
Even with more gas, consumption is only marginally higher, and even at full throttle the Pegazus still fulfils our range requirement.
Fast turns must not be made too tightly so that the propeller does not catch air; otherwise you have to start again. On the slalom course, the test boat leans heavily from one cheek to the other, but it still stays therealways easy to control. Responsible for the latter is theSmooth and direct hydraulic steering.
We sail courses with the sea at almost full throttle and feel safe. The boat is also stable on the opposite tack, but the hull starts to move harder, so we have to reduce the speed to a gentle glide. The hull naturally lurches and rocks across the wave, which is why the skipper has to use the rudder from time to time to compensate.
For theFishing luck installs the shipyardsix rod holderstwo 100-litre compartments to be flooded, bait box and deck washing system with water extraction from the outside. If you want to make yourself cosy on cold days, you can order an EbersbächerHot air heating. These and the cooker and fridge, which are available at extra cost, are particularly advantageous if you want to take the boat on a trip or two with your family or partner.
To theSafety equipment include an escape hatch, bathing ladder (easy to operate from the water), fire extinguisher, electric bilge pumps and a loose hand pump. To ensure safe movement on board, the shipyard has equipped the steps with anti-slip structures and installed a solid railing and handholds. The side deck is sufficiently wide and has a slip edge. In terms of workmanship and installations, in short: everything has been done properly.
Conclusion
The Pegazus 560 Top Fisher is a cabin cruiser that is particularly popular with anglers. However, discovery tours are also possible with this boat, which is easy to trailer. In the go-fishing version, it offers attractive standard equipment.
