Boats like the Quicksilver Activ 755 Weekend areReal all-rounders. On the one hand, it offers everything you need for travelling with your family or partner, but on the other hand it is also suitable as a diving and fishing boat or as a tug for tubes and the like.
To theCruising boat They make the bunks in the bow and in the underfloor cabin, which together provide overnight accommodation for three to four people. Small wet room, seating area (also emergency berth) in the driver's cab plus pantry blockcomplete the living comfort.
For relaxing in the open air The L-shaped seating area with table in the cockpit invites you to relax. With a split bathing platform and bathing ladder, water rats and those who want to enjoy the water canany kind of water sports equipmentcan be towed behind and climb in and out of the water with ease. The boat is suitable for fishing enthusiasts withFishing rod holder and spacious cockpitalso serves as a base, which applies equally to divers and their equipment. The best thing about it: crew and driver can also be out and about in bad weather, as they areAlways a dry place in the sheltered cabfind. If you want to extend the season, you can use the optional diesel heater, especially in northern regions.
Driving and manoeuvring
When it comes to engine and propulsion, the skipper has to choose between an inboard and outboard version. As you can already see from the photos, we are travelling with anOutboard motor. And not just with any old one, but with aMercuryas it belongs to the Brunswick family just like the Quicksilver boats.
This means that the 755 is (almost) exclusively available as a package with Mercury. According to the shipyard, the engine output should be between 175 and 300 hp. We travelled with an F250 Verado Plus (250 hp). It brings the test boat (power trim down) between approx.2000 and 3800 rpm in gliding modeThe instrument panel is visible for a brief moment through the rising bow.
With theUse of the trim tabs the transition phase can be shortened a little, but the trim tabs are not necessary for normal gliding, unless you have to compensate for a sideways position (e.g. due to wind). Otherwise, only use the power trim (maximum 4 on the display). If you want to make distance, let the engine turn 4000 rpm and glide over the water at a good 20 knots with a consumption of 1.9 l/sm.
One tank of fuel is theoretically enough for an acceptable 134 nm plus 15 % reserve.Over 200 nm can be reached in displacement travel; at these speeds, you should allow the boat to level out on a straight course and only steer slightly in the opposite direction. If people are running from one side to the other while the boat is travelling slowly, this will only have a minor effect on the course.
In the harbour on our test boat, abow thruster for mooring manoeuvres, which is particularly advantageous in windy conditions. The wind of between around 3 and just under 5 g created a choppy sea on the Baltic Sea off Laboe, which the Quicksilver hull travelled through smoothly and dryly at a good 20 knots. The same applies to the stern seas of commercial vessels.
To ensure that the driver has everything firmly and precisely under control, the shipyard installed aElectrically controlled steering and gearstick. Both can be easily operated from a standing or sitting position. A sports seat with a folding seat on the driver's side ensures comfort. You look through aSafety glass paneThe two windscreen wipers with washer system, with the port wiper on the accessories list.
Safety and equipment
On the subject ofOperational safety clean and solid installations are convincing, but we would like to see extra fuel filters in the fuel line. We also miss the manual bilge pump, which the two electric bilge pumps cannot replace according to the BOOTE standard.
Access to the foredeck is via 0.21 m wide side decks with railings and effectiveAnti-slip structures. OneSwimming ladderwhich can also be operated properly from the water, is just as much a standard feature as aSelf-draining anchor lockeropening side windows, table, LED interior lighting, dual battery system (with selector switch) and galley with sink.
If you would like to have a fridge and gas cooker on board, the easiest way to order them is with theSmart Edition package (around €10,000), which includes plenty of practical accessories. The same applies to theElectrical packagewhich includes the important chart plotter and radio.
Conclusion:
The Quicksilver Activ 755 Weekend certainly lives up to its name and offers many water sports options. However, we recommend upgrading the standard version with the "Smart Edition"
and "Electric" packages. The driving and manoeuvring characteristics make an appealing impression, as do the workmanship and installations.
