The fact that largeInflatable rigid hull boats The boat builder has not failed to realise that the RIBs are becoming increasingly popular, and not just in the Mediterranean. This is why the shipyard also started producing RIBs at the end of 2015, which were presented at the boot2016 in Düsseldorf as MG series to the world public for the first time were presented.
The flagship MG 710 at the time was joined by a 520 and a 580. In the meantime, the MG 820 was added.
Saver stands forSophisticated designs with good running characteristics andQuality level at moderate prices. According to our inspection, this also applies to the subject. We enter the MG 710 via a step in the bow that covers the GRP anchor locker. OneElectric windlass is one of the options.
This is followed by U-shaped seats with storage compartments underneath. An insert closes off the footwell and creates a connection to the seat located in the front part of the centre console. This creates a reclining area for three people.
Alternatively, a table supplied can be fitted. The combined seating and sunbathing area in the rear can be used as seating for up to three crew members or as a sun lounger for one person. An insert can also be added here, providing space for two sunbathers. However, this completely fills the space up to the ingenious wet bar, which is revealed by folding forward the seat surface of the driver's seat. A washbasin, a 70-litre fresh water tank and the rear shower supplied with it are all part of the standard equipment.
The Suzuki DF 200A fitted to the test boat proves to be a very sporty alternative that is a lot of fun to drive. Reaching for the top engine with 184 kW (250 hp) is a luxury. With two people on board, we reach planing speed after just three seconds at 2800 rpm and 10 knots. The top speed of 41.6 kn is reached after just 16 seconds at 6220 rpm, which is slightly above the rated speed. Even at a speed of almost 32 kn at 5000 rpm, the noise level is low at 72 db(A). Only then does it get louder. The 200-litre built-in tank should ensure acceptable ranges.
The boat weighs a good 1.1 tonnes including the mounted outboard motor, so it is very easy to trailer. The width of 2.73 metres is reduced to legal dimensions by deflating the boat. The MG 710 is CE category C approved for coastal waters and up to 18 people. Anyone thinking about purchasing the boat will need to save up around 32,000 euros. Then there is the Suzuki DF 200A, which costs a further 22,600 euros, including assembly costs. Sales in Germany are shared between the Menken boat centre in Gersthofen (south) and Schütze Bootshandel in Köpenick (north).
