At Windy, it is simply part of the tradition that the sports cruisers are given a sonorous nickname. Our latest test boat, the Windy 27, was christened Solano by the shipyard. According to Wikipedia, this is a hot wind from the south or south-east that occurs in southern Spain and is similar to the Scirocco.
And although Windy comes from the far north and is great for travelling the archipelago, it is also very easy to imagine enjoying the sun and the waters of southern Europe on a sports cruiser.
Our test area, the Rhine near Worms, is located in the centre of Germany, as this is where the German dealer Allegro-Boote has its headquarters.
