Nimbus Boats announces the further development of its successful 11 series. The new 12 series comprises three models - Weekender 12, Tender 12 and Commuter 12 - which are based on the proven platform but feature numerous improvements in detail. The boats retain their basic characteristics, but offer more comfort, improved ergonomics and extended utilisation options.
All three models in the 12 series have an extended bathing platform in a double-shell design, allowing more direct access to the water. The platform can be designed hydraulically as an option for outboard motors and then also serves as a gangway.
The steering position has been equipped with new, ergonomically optimised Nimbus helmet seats. These offer more lateral support and reduce fatigue on longer journeys. The exterior design has also been revised: New 40 mm stainless steel railings and Nimbus logos in polished stainless steel now characterise the appearance.
The rear seating area has been fitted with additional side cushions, transforming storage space into comfortable seating. Improved windscreen wiper systems, a new rear shower and revised lighting round off the new features.
Technically, all models are based on the proven stepped hull, which offers a low planing limit and high seaworthiness. The boats reach speeds of over 45 knots and run dry and stable even in rougher conditions.
The Tender 12 has undergone the most extensive changes. The T-top has been made wider and longer and now has integrated solar panels and acrylic glass. Another new feature is a fold-out side terrace on the starboard side, which enlarges the cockpit space at anchor. For the first time, the T12 can be equipped with two Mercury V10 engines with 425 hp each.
The Weekender 12 is now also available in a Targa version, the design of which is based on the iconic Nimbus 32 Ballista. Here too, a side terrace on the starboard side provides more space and openness when relaxing.
The aft deck of the Commuter 12 has been redesigned and now offers more usable space with a folding backrest on the rear bench. The deck saloon with galley (kitchenette) in a raised position and curtains improves year-round suitability for use in various weather conditions.
The 12 series is offered as standard with two Mercury Verado V8 engines with 300 hp (221 kW) each. Two Mercury Verado V10 engines with 425 hp (313 kW) each are available as an option. Alternatively, Volvo Penta D4 DPI inboard engines with 320 hp (235 kW) each are also available for the Commuter 12 and Tender 12.
All models can be equipped with the Mercury Joystick Piloting System, which simplifies system monitoring and, together with the integrated bow thruster, enables precise manoeuvring. An assisted docking package with joystick control is available for the Volvo Penta drives, which also facilitates manoeuvring in confined spaces.
The entire 12 series has vacuum-formed hulls and decks for optimum strength and low weight. An inverter-fed air conditioning system ensures quiet comfort when anchored and during longer stays on board.
With a length of 12.70 metres and a width of 3.46 metres, all models offer generous space. The standard weight is around 6,850 kg including two 425 hp engines. The draught is 0.9 metres.
The boats have an 850-litre fuel tank and are CE category B approved for 10 people or category C for 12 people. All models offer four berths in two double cabins and can carry up to 12 people.
The Nimbus 12 series is aimed at experienced boaters who appreciate Scandinavian design, quality and reliability. The boats are designed for different purposes: The Commuter 12 is suitable as a year-round means of transport for longer distances, the Weekender 12 extends the weekend options with improved social areas and the Tender 12 remains the versatile walk-around model for lovers of well thought-out design.
The Nimbus 12 series can now be ordered from authorised Nimbus dealers worldwide. The public presentation will take place at boot Düsseldorf in January 2026, with production starting in the first quarter of 2026. Prices have not yet been announced.
