The American boat manufacturer Wellcraft is announcing three new 28-foot models that will be launched in 2026.
Wellcraft is expanding its range in the mid-range segment and is announcing three new models: 28 Speedster, 28 T-Top and 28 Explorer. All three boats share the same hull, but differ in the superstructure variant.
The Speedster model comes as an open version, the T-Top model offers sun protection, while the Explorer model is equipped with a closed wheelhouse. The world premiere of the Wellcraft 28 T-Top and the 28 Explorer will take place at boot Düsseldorf 2026. In North America, the 28 T-Top will be on show for the first time in February 2026 at the Miami International Boat Show.
Wellcraft offers four different cockpit variants for the new 28-foot models. The standard "Lounge" variant is designed for socialising and offers space for sitting. The "Barracuda" configuration transforms the stern area into a fishing platform with a folding bench seat, fish box, bait boxes and various rod holders - ideal for families who love fishing. For sun worshippers, the T-Top and 28 Speedster variants offer the "Relax" version with a large sun lounger, stowed storage space and additional seating. The "Sleeper" configuration is exclusive to the Explorer and offers two additional sleeping berths, allowing overnight stays on board.
All three models benefit from Wellcraft Infujection Structure Engineering (W.I.S.E.) technology. In this process, the hull and stringer are manufactured in one piece, resulting in a lighter, stiffer and more stable structure. For the development of the hull, Wellcraft worked together with Navia, a renowned specialist for stepped hulls from Helsinki. Thanks to this hull design, the boats glide faster, accelerate more quickly and run more smoothly in rough water. With single or twin engines, the Wellcraft 28 models can reach speeds of over 50 knots with good fuel efficiency and high driving stability.
The new 28-foot models from Wellcraft are characterised by high safety standards. An enclosed stern, high bulwarks, large handrails, distinctive rubbing strakes, an access door and solid seats ensure safety in all conditions. The standardised deck level ensures safe movement on board. The boats bear Wellcraft's characteristic Z-shaped line and are certified to NMMA standards.
