Protection from wind and weather is very popular in our part of the world. That's why some Finnish shipyards are now offering their multi-purpose day cruisers and fishing boats in the 6 metre range with a fully enclosed deckhouse. And this doesn't just mean a converted steering position, but a real cabin with large windows and comfortable seating for three to four people.

A new addition is the Cross 60 C from Yamarin. Cross stands for the composite construction of a robust aluminium hull and GRP deck, a model series that the Finnish shipyard launched two years ago and added to in 2013 with the open 49 Bow Rider.

The Cross 60 Cabin, which is only 6.05 metres long, is indeed a small space miracle. It is divided into three areas; both the fore and aft sections are easily accessible from the cabin via doors. Both are fitted with solid handrails for a secure grip. There are four upholstered seats inside; a maximum of six people are permitted on board the CE category C boat. The 960 kg glider is propelled by an outboard motor with a power range between 70 and 150 hp.

Christian Tiedt was born in Hamburg in 1975, but grew up in the northern suburbs of the city - except for numerous visits to the harbor, North Sea and Baltic Sea, but without direct access to water sports for a long time. His first adventures then took place on dry land: With the classics from Chichester, Slocum and Co. After completing his vocational training, his studies finally gave him the opportunity (in terms of time) to get active on the water - and to obtain the relevant licenses. First with cruising and then, when he joined BOOTE in 2004, with motorboats of all kinds. In the meantime, Christian has been able to get to know almost all of Europe (and some more distant destinations) on his own keel and prefers to share his adventures and experiences as head of the travel department for YACHT and BOOTE in cruise reports.
