Project "Ali Baba" after undocking at Lürssen in Bremen-Aumund. The length is estimated at 142 metres
Lürssen moved a new build in Bremen with the project name "Ali Baba". Ice-blue metallic paintwork, a helicopter hangar and damage to the stern caused by a break-out from the dry dock were revealed.

You might think that the presumably 142-metre-long solitaire couldn't wait to get out of the dry dock and into its element - Lürssen calls it "premature". The shipyard announced: "Due to a technical defect at the dock gate, water escaped from the dock and pushed the nose of the yacht into the dock curtain." The incident occurred a few days before undocking in Bremen-Aumund; one employee was slightly injured and treated immediately. The necessary evacuation measures were initiated and the relevant authorities were notified.

Striking wing masts and helicopter hangar

While the dock in Bremen-Aumund is being inspected and repaired, Project "Ali Baba" comes to Hamburg for the final outfitting. At Lürssen Yacht Refit & Services (LYRS) on the Blohm + Voss shipyard site, the damage to the upper stem is also repaired and the ice-blue metallic paintwork is applied. A helicopter hangar can be seen on the upper deck, which merges aft into a large landing area. There is a pad on the foredeck for quick touchdowns. The main deck is likely to have a transverse pool at the stern.

The mast arrangement is striking, with ten exhaust pipes distributed over two rear wings, which in turn are connected to a front mast that is also profiled. Details of the drive system, exterior designer or client are not known. However, the lines and colour scheme are very similar to "Pacific" (85 m), which Lürssen completed in 2010 based on a design by Germán Frers.
