Van der Valk Shipyard has pushed the 35 metre long "Jangada" into the water. Nick Top and Guido de Groot gave the motor yacht an additional deck compared to her predecessors.

The ship is the third collaboration between the Dutch shipyard and the same owner. Designed by Nick Top and Guido de Groot, the yacht is characterised by an additional deck, but retains the elegant raised pilothouse profile of the previous builds. The graphic exterior lines frame the enlarged volume and create a harmonious overall look. Family yacht from Van der Valk.

Focus on the family

The layout suits the owner's lifestyle. The master suite extends over the forward area of the main deck, while the guest cabins on the lower deck are particularly appealing to children and grandchildren. For sporting activities on board, the family can meet in the fitness area - or in the 4.5 metre pool with counter-current on the flybridge.

You can then relax in the main lounge. Large glass surfaces and 2.6 metre high ceilings create an open atmosphere and long lines of sight. The seating area at the helm station offers an unrestricted view during anchor manoeuvres, and the dashboard screens can be discreetly folded away when not in use.

Clever solutions from Van der Valk

With a capacity of 7,200 litres, the installation of the pool required a special hot water tank underneath the tender garage. Comprehensive sound insulation minimises noise transmission throughout the ship.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
