ISA Yachts is presenting Blade, a 70-metre superyacht from its new collaboration with Lobanov Design. The project marks the start of a partnership that is already planning further models.

The ISA Blade 70 metre has a clear goal: to be the most elegant and distinctive yacht in the Grand Sport segment - a category characterised by fast formats with vertical or near-vertical bow shapes. Lobanov was visibly inspired by ships from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Igor Lobanov designs a floating sculpture

The bow area has a concave profile. Decorative stainless steel elements emphasise this section, while the anchor recess remains fully integrated and concealed. The yacht resembles a sculpture with flowing lines from bow to stern.

The glazing combines panels with dotted foils and a black insert in the front area near the waterline. The structure consists entirely of tinted glass panels and black painted surfaces. A subtle dynamic curve suggests speed and movement. ISA construction start of the second Viper 130.

Wooden bench with a view of the sea

The design of the exterior surfaces integrates teak inlays, and the tailgate of the "garden" and beach club transforms into a wide wooden bench with a view of the sea when closed.

The layout of the rooms takes the so-called owner's concept to the extreme: the master suite is located aft on the upper deck and has a private terrace. The owner wakes up to an unobstructed view of the water. This arrangement differs from conventional layouts, which usually place the suite on the forward upper deck in this segment.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
