Abeking & Rasmussen (A & R) presents Aruby. The 70-metre semi-custom platform complements the range of individual superyachts. The concept was developed in close collaboration with the Reymond Langton Design studio.

The idea combines decades of customer feedback and proven engineering solutions into an immediately realisable solution and - like the gemstone that gives it its name - stands for timeless elegance, durability and excellent craftsmanship. Aruby addresses a market demand for faster availability without any loss of quality.

"With Aruby, we offer a turnkey path to yacht ownership that doesn't require an in-house build team or years of pre-planning, but still guarantees the full dedication of our boutique shipyard," says Sales Director Till von Krause. New Giga for A&R.

Engine compartment on one level

At the heart of the 70-metre concept is a modern diesel-electric propulsion system that is already designed for future generations of sustainable fuels. By using a pod propulsion system and the knowledge gained from minesweeper shipbuilding, Abeking & Rasmussen has achieved exceptionally low noise and vibration levels.

The single-tier engine room is a technical highlight: as the generators are soundproofed on one level, there is significantly more space for living comfort in the rest of the ship. The layout follows the concept of "New Luxury". Spacious owner's suites, two salons and an extensive beach club create a spacious ambience. Volume: 1,770 GT.

Self-service as a new form of luxury

A particular focus is on maximising the autonomy of guests. Thanks to intelligent self-service options, the service can operate extremely discreetly while improving privacy on board. Whether as a floating base for home office or home schooling or as a charter yacht - Aruby adapts flexibly to any lifestyle.

Abeking & Rasmussen has enlisted the services of a well-known studio for the design. Till von Krause: "In recent years, we have developed 58-metre and 78-metre yachts together with Reymond Langton, which were very, very successful. Now we are transferring this concept to modern 70-metre technology with a compact engine room and maximum use of space for the owners."

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
