Damen Yachting is delighted to announce the launch of the latest Amels 6006 - number six in the series "Limited Editions". There was a big party in Vlissingen.

The 60 metre yacht was celebrated like a star, the stage was the area in front of the gates of the main shipyard in Vlissingen, the Netherlands. The design of the Amels 60 Limited Editions visibly points to the future and is based on the solid foundation of Damen Yachting's craftsmanship and shipbuilding expertise. A big name went to work on the cool exterior lines: Espen Øino, who usually likes to draw attention to himself with 100-metre-plus formats, for example with the almost 139-metre-long Lürssen Giga "Luminance".

For the Amels 60, Øino combined elegant lines with technical sophistication. The customised interior was created by Winch Design, with the owner himself commissioning the British studio. After the launch, the Amels 6006 will be fully equipped at the Damen Yachting shipyard until she can be handed over to her owner at the end of 2024.

The bright blue colour of the Amels 60 stands out

Paul Deurloo, Project Manager at Damen Yachting, comments: "It's always an exciting moment when the yacht comes out of the shed in all its splendour. The spectacular colour of this hull is sure to catch the eye! What he means is a bright blue colour with a high-gloss finish that doesn't forgive a single processing error in the paint shop."

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
