Azimut Grande 44M: Four decks instead of three make the layout more flexible. For the interior, the shipyard engaged the m2atelier team for the first time
Azimut has launched a new successful model on the market with the Grande 44M. The 44 metre long yacht has a redesigned layout and environmentally friendly features

With the Grande 44M, Azimut is sending a successful model onto the maritime catwalk; the Italians had already sold five units before the first official presentation. The 44 metre long newcomer is the brand's largest yacht to date, which remains true to GRP as the hull material and distributes the living space over four decks.

Together with house and yard designer Alberto Mancini, who also drew the exterior lines, the team reorganised familiar layouts. The helm station ended up on the penthouse floor, turning the upper deck into an owner's Eldorado - with a master suite plus panoramic terrace. Alternatively, the forward section can be transformed into a media lounge or dining area. Either way, the area flows seamlessly into a generously dimensioned bow terrace, which could be equipped with a fireplace, for example. With the large aft deck, the Grande 44M recreates the principle of the mezzanine deck plus viewing platform of the best-selling Grande Trideck.

Azimut is also placing increasing emphasis on environmental protection: thanks to the P.L.A.N.A. hull shape (displacer at the front, glider with Hull-Vane rear wing at the back) and the hybrid hotel mode, the 44M is set to emit up to 30 per cent less CO2 than traditional models. Its debut is scheduled for 2026.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
