With Clear Waves, Benetti is launching a 70-metre mega-yacht that embraces wellness as a central design principle. For this project, the Italian brand collaborated with Luca Dini and The Longevity Suite.
Traditionally, on-board spas are integrated into existing layouts – but with ‘Clear Waves’, it’s the other way round: the entire yacht is designed with the guests’ physical and mental wellbeing in mind. This is evident in details such as purified air, optimised sleeping comfort and colour schemes that change according to the time of day.
Architecturally, too, the Benetti breaks with convention: rather than being located on the lower deck, the wellness area is situated on the prestigious upper deck. Surrounded by real plants, it features relaxation areas, a food and beverage island, hot and cold water treatments, and modern therapeutic methods.
Life beneath the glass dome
At the heart of the yacht is a 400-square-metre, energy-self-sufficient glass dome spanning two decks, offering a 360-degree panoramic view. From sunrise right through to night-time, the ambience of the space changes. “The architecture becomes a lens through which one can experience the sea. It creates a space that is both expansive and intimate – where the horizon becomes part of the interior,” says Luca Dini
More than 60 per cent of the surface area is fitted with translucent photovoltaic modules; the so-called Low-E glass filters out infrared and UV radiation. A direct-evaporation HVAC system, together with the dome’s geometry itself, utilises the chimney effect to ensure natural air circulation and a stable microclimate.
Science rather than wellness clichés
The content is provided by The Longevity Suite – a company that aims to improve the quality of life and well-being of its clients through clinics and spas in Italy, Spain and Switzerland. “The aim is to go beyond the traditional concept of on-board wellness and to use the time spent on the yacht for prevention, relaxation and self-care,” says CEO Luigi Caterino. “Privacy and personalisation make a yacht a particularly suitable environment for a longevity-focused approach.”
Specifically, Benetti’s Clear Waves offers personalised assessments combined with cold therapy, dry floating, near-infrared light or hydrogen-oxygen therapy.

From a technical perspective, the concept takes the form of a hybrid configuration with a dual-fuel system for HVO biofuel and methanol, developed in collaboration with Meccano Engineering and already validated by Lloyd’s Register. More than 250 square metres of solar panels generate up to 120 kWh, supplemented by heat recovery and water treatment.
