Columbus Yachts has launched the Crossover 42 "Big Naan" launched in Savona. The 42-metre-long steel ship with aluminium superstructure offers space for up to eleven guests and has a 17-square-metre swimming pool in the stern area.

Columbus Yachts, a brand of the Palumbo Superyachts Group, has reached a significant milestone: the shipyard celebrated the christening of its latest superyacht, the Columbus Crossover 42 named "Big Naan". The ceremony took place at the Savona shipyard in the presence of the US owners, their guests and local officials.

It was an emotional moment for the entire Columbus Yachts team. Every launch proves that another project has been successfully completed.

Construction and design

The Columbus Crossover 42 has a steel hull, while lightweight and corrosion-resistant aluminium was used for the superstructure. The displacement hull comes with a bulbous bow and flat stern section, which optimises efficiency at various speeds.

The Hydro Tec Studio designed the exterior lines with a modern, powerful look. They are characterised by the straight, angular surfaces and the XL volume in the bow area - a typical feature of Explorers.

Flexible rooms on the Columbus Crossover 42

Despite its compact dimensions of 42 metres, the Crossover 42 has spaces that can be used flexibly. One highlight is the cockpit, which not only offers space for a large tender with integrated crane on the starboard side, but also space for a 17 square metre swimming pool with lounge.

Innovative interior from Hot Lab

Studio Hot Lab was responsible for the interior design. The team paid particular attention to the beach club on the lower deck, which is accessible via a hydraulic door on the right-hand side of the aft bathing area. Large side windows and the pool's spectacular glass floor flood the room with natural light. Sophisticated lighting harmonises the interior with the surroundings and the sea.

Spacious suites

The Columbus Crossover 42 offers space for up to eleven guests in five suites. Three VIP suites and one double cabin, which can be converted into a triple cabin thanks to a Pullman bed, are located on the lower deck.

The spacious owner's suite extends across the full width of the main deck and has a dressing room, office corner, dressing table and a bathroom with two separate areas, one of which has a shower.
