CRN has launched the 70 metre long Project Thunderball. The steel-aluminium ship was built together with Vripack and Nauta. Delivery to the owner is planned for summer 2026.

On 4 June 2026, the 70-metre Project Thunderball was launched at the Ferretti Group in Ancona. The ceremony took place in a private setting with the owner and his family. The 1,100 GT yacht has four decks and can accommodate twelve guests in the owner's suite plus five VIPs. There are also 15 crew members in nine cabins.

CRN realised the project as a steel-aluminium displacement vessel. The Dutch studio Vripack was responsible for the exterior design, the ship's architecture and the layout, while Nauta designed the interior and exterior areas. As the owner's representative, Y.CO took on the project management and coordinated the inspection, acceptance and monitoring of the suppliers during the construction phase. 67 CRN-Meter go swimming

Classic lines with a modern approach

Thunderball's silhouette features a classically elongated bow, a slim profile and lines inspired by sailing yachts. "The ONE" (71 metres), built in 1973 as "Carinthia VI", could have been a model for this. Geometries and proportions are repeated from the outside to the inside and vice versa.

Patterns in different scales, materials and functions appear everywhere. The interior combines timeless and modern details with maritime culture. All of this has of course been adapted to the owner's lifestyle.

CRN plans the handover this summer

The yacht is equipped with an intelligent energy storage system, which controls the supply at peak load and enables silent operation at anchor. Work on the interior and exterior fittings will continue over the coming months. This will be followed by sea trials and tests until handover to the owner in summer 2026.

Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
