The robust formats from the Damens Yacht Support and Xplorer series tend to distinguish themselves from the mostly white fleet of the sister brand Amels through their special colour scheme. Not so the 60 metre long Xplorer 60 "After You" and the 53 metre long Yacht Support format "Emotional", which appears as a duo and on behalf of an owner. Who probably likes it white. Both new buildings were built at the Damen Yachting location in Antalya and were managed by the brokerage house TWW Yachts.
The Xplorer 60 "After You" combines the characteristics of an explorer with the comfort of a white yacht, just like the Antalya-built and two metre shorter "Pink Shadow" did before. With a length of 60 metres and an interior volume of 1,160 gross tonnes, she offers space for twelve guests and 16 crew members plus captain. The interior design was created by H2 Yacht Design, while Azure Yacht Design created the exterior. Damen Yachting, a subsidiary of the Dutch shipbuilding group of the same name, is responsible for the construction.
The striking appearance of "After You" is largely characterised by the high bow with the pronounced spray rail on the stem and the recess of the Panorama Lounge above it. Certainly a good place to explore what lies ahead in polar regions. Aft, on the other hand, there are a large number of open spaces that speak in favour of using the mother ship in Mediterranean waters.
"Emotional" acts as a supply vessel and, with a length of 53 metres, is not much shorter, but at 499 gross tons is considerably less voluminous. The second YS53 offers additional space for eight guests and ten crew members plus the captain. Both the interior and exterior design were created by Damen Yachting, whose engineers also carried out all the calculations.
The supporting shadow transports additional crew, water sports equipment and has extended facilities for helicopter operations. The focus of the 19-knot "Emotional" is on functionality, performance and operational efficiency.
Together, the two yachts form a special combination for owners looking for adventure without sacrificing luxury. The Xplorer 60 serves as a comfortable base, while the YS53 provides additional logistical capacity. This division makes it possible to streamline the main yacht while offering all the amenities and technical possibilities of a much larger yacht.
Jorrit Pilaar, Sales Manager at Damen Yachting, emphasises the good cooperation with TWW Yachts during the construction phase. Enrique Tintore, Product and Design Manager for the Xplorer and Yacht Support lines, describes the double delivery as a "milestone for Damen Yachting".
David Westwood, CEO of TWW Yachts, explains: "As the owner's representative, our most important task was to ensure that his vision, expectations and long-term interests were safeguarded throughout the project." The result is an exceptional expedition yacht combined with a powerful provider, both of which will be on display at the Monaco Yacht Show at the end of September 2025.
Damen Yachting is the yacht building division of the Damen Shipyards Group. The company builds and refits Amels superyachts, Xplorers (formerly known as SeaXplorers) and yacht support formats. With around 500 yacht building specialists and hundreds of specialised suppliers, Damen Yachting focuses on innovation and technical expertise.
