The first BC60 was christened and launched with great ceremony and is now awaiting its first test runs. With the 18 metre long cat, Bering Yachts has transferred the shipyard's long-distance DNA to a twin-hull format. Made entirely of aluminium, the yacht has a range of more than 3,000 nautical miles with its 13,500-litre fuel tanks.
The draught of 1.3 metres allows access to shallow bays and coral waters that remain inaccessible to conventional yachts of this size. The displacement hulls are designed for stability and smooth running even in demanding conditions. Noise and vibrations have been largely reduced to increase comfort.
The number of cabins varies between four and six, depending on the chosen layout. Bering Yachts offers a high degree of customisation here. A unique feature is the fully enclosed flybridge, which acts as a second saloon with a bar and 360-degree panoramic view. This area can also be set up as a gym, office or library.
The BC60 can be steered by the owner himself or with a crew of two. Generous stowage spaces throughout the ship support self-sufficiency on longer trips away from marinas and supply stations. Launch of the Bering 78.
"I'm so excited to finally see her in the water. I can't wait for the first sea trial. It will be great to see how all the design decisions we've made actually come together," says Scott Blee of Sabdes Boat Designs.
We are not compromising anywhere. I think it's a pretty unique offering for the market."
Since its first launch, the BC60 has been one of the shipyard's most sought-after models in Europe, the USA and other markets.
