Away with the usual conventions of superyacht design! In collaboration with the Florentine studio Luca Dini, Alia Yachts has built a 45-metre vessel that brings guests extra close to the water. The shipyard in Antalya has now launched the “Genie Blu”.

With this new addition, Alia Yachts aims to showcase what the Antalya-based shipyard does best. Turning an owner’s unconventional visions into a reality crafted by skilled hands. “Fully bespoke and refreshingly unconventional, ‘Genie Blu’ is exactly the sort of yacht we love to build at Alia,” says Gökhan Çelik, President of Alia Yachts.

Working closely with the owner throughout the entire construction period has been a privilege, and the launch is a proud moment for everyone involved.

Less is more for the 45-metre yacht

The guiding principle of the project can be summed up in a single sentence: less is more. “The project is based on subtraction rather than addition,” explains Luca Dini, founder and creative director of Luca Dini Design & Architecture. Alia Yachts launches Vripack Design

“We have removed barriers, reduced unnecessary bulk and opened up the yacht wherever possible.” Rather than maximising the gross tonnage, the focus was on the owner’s experience at sea. Furthermore, the yacht was consistently designed from the outside in, not the other way round.

Glass, light and transparency

The most striking feature of the 45-metre yacht is the generous use of glass. Floor-to-ceiling windows run the length of the main deck, almost completely blurring the boundaries between the interior and exterior. Natural light thus becomes an integral part of everyday life on board.

The sleek profile, with its fold-down bulwarks and clean lines, gives the Custom from Alia Yachts a presence that is both powerful and understated – a combination that is rarely achieved in the superyacht sector.

A genuine yachting experience rather than a floating showroom

Luca Dini has carried the yacht’s open-plan design through to every corner of the interior. Neutral colour schemes, natural textures and carefully chosen details create an elegant ambience without detracting from the vessel’s maritime character.

“Luxury today is no longer about excess,” says Dini. “It’s about authenticity, comfort and an emotional connection. We wanted guests to feel as though they were living on board a yacht – surrounded by the sea, not in a floating showroom.”

Outdoor decks: Water as a living space

In the cockpit, raised seating areas give way to wide steps leading down to the rear bathing platform. This creates a natural, almost instinctive connection to the water.

At the front of the boat, a lounge area and sun loungers invite you to enjoy the sea breeze. The flexible layout allows for a variety of uses: a private family outing or a larger gathering with guests.

Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
