Dynamiq celebrates its tenth birthday with the Global 550, which is being built in the free trade zone in Antalya, Turkey.

When drawing up the plans, the designers at Vripack obviously had the number five in mind: 55 metres in length, 5000 nautical miles range (at ten knots), five guest suites. The nine-metre-wide Explorer was given an extra-light, low-drag aluminium hull with an almost vertical stem, so that up to 16 knots can be achieved with two 625-kilowatt engines. Thanks to advanced exhaust filters, diesel tanks with a capacity of 52,280 litres and a waste water treatment system, the yacht meets the strict regulations for voyages to the Great Lakes, Alaska and MARPOL zones. A commercial helipad allows the use of a three-tonne aero tender.

Whether travelling or in port, the Global 550 stands out thanks to the striking exterior lines of Dobroserdov Design, based in Monaco. The minimalist interior was designed by the Polish studio of Zrobim Architects. In the rooms, up to ten guests can enjoy ceiling heights of 2.10 to 2.20 metres. Dynamiq makes no secret of the starting price: 27.9 million euros.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
