At the beginning of March, the real name of project "Cali" was revealed. The 82-metre-long three-decker announced itself via AIS as "Haven". This refers not only to the interior spaces designed by RWD - the cubic capacity is 2130 gross tonnes - but also to the outdoor areas with a large dining area including a barbecue and pizza oven as well as an open-air cinema. As is usual for the Bremen-based company, the technical parameters of the steel-aluminium construction were set by the large and experienced team of naval architects.
With "Haven", Lürssen is presenting a design from its own creative department for the first time in a long time. Before the Dutchman Jim Robert Sluijter became Lead Exterior Designer at the Bremen shipyard, the industrial designer worked at De Voogt, Feadship's design and construction office, Winch Design and Azure Yacht Design. His most recent role was that of chief designer Jörg Beiderbeck, who produced creations for Lürssen between 1985 and 1995, such as the 40.35 metre-long "Be Mine", which was launched in 1991, and subsequently opened the studio named after him.
Jim Robert Sluijter was given an aesthetically pleasing brief for his first "own" crack: the lack of an owner's deck alone - which is now unusual in this size segment - resulted in a flat silhouette. And with a width of 12.50 metres, the 82-metre steel-aluminium solitaire is comparatively narrow. According to Lürssen, "Haven" will be used by a family that loves outdoor activities. The sun deck stretches over 30 metres and includes a jacuzzi, bar and dining area with barbecue and pizza oven. When dusk falls, the crew sets up an open-air cinema up there. The beach club opens up to the sea via terraces on both sides and ends aft with a long bathing platform.
