The 57-metre motor yacht YN 20857 has been christened at Heesen Yachts’ site in Oss, the Netherlands. Built under the project name “Setteesettanta”, this all-aluminium yacht was commissioned as a fully bespoke build for a family who had previously had a yacht built by the Dutch shipyard.
The owners commissioned Heesen to develop a clear concept for life on board with family and friends. The vessel has an internal volume of 920 gross registered tonnes and reaches a top speed of 18 knots. Delivery is scheduled for the end of December.
The exterior design is by Omega Architects, whilst Cristiano Gatto Design is responsible for the interior design. Gatto also acted as a consultant to the owners throughout the construction phase.
A flat hull for calm anchorages
The hull was tested at the Wolfson Unit in Southampton, where it achieved performance figures that enabled Heesen to fit the vessel with two compact MTU 16V2000M72 engines, each rated at 1,440 kilowatts. At twelve knots, the transatlantic range is 3,900 nautical miles. The draught is just 2.3 metres, allowing access to shallow anchorages. F45-type Quantum stabilisers operate both at anchor and whilst underway. The entire interior, including the marble personally selected by the owners in Verona, was crafted by Heesen in its own workshop in Winterswijk.
Four decks with a private owner’s area
The owners have reserved the entire upper deck as a private area. The master cabin is situated at the bow and offers a 180-degree view. It opens onto a private terrace measuring almost 200 square metres, which also serves as a helipad. A VIP cabin is located on the main deck next to a fully equipped gym.
Four further cabins – two double cabins and two twin cabins – accommodate guests on the lower deck. An oval staircase connects all four decks. The dining area on the main deck is situated aft and opens onto the aft terrace via wide sliding doors.
Bridge on the fourth deck
YN 20857 is the first yacht in the Heesen fleet to feature a bridge on the fourth deck. This layout provides the owners with an observation deck above the living areas. A slender mast designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and flat Starlink panels in place of traditional domes keep the silhouette sleek. Aft, a double staircase winds around a four-metre-long infinity pool to the swim platform at the water’s edge. The yacht accommodates 13 crew members.

Next steps leading up to delivery
The “Setteesettanta” will remain in Oss whilst the systems are being commissioned. The shipyard is planning sea trials in the North Sea later this summer. Delivery to the owners is scheduled for the end of December.
