The shipyard has announced the delivery of the 88 metre long "Angelique" from its facilities in Pendik, Istanbul. The flagship, developed under project number NB74 Vento, is the largest yacht ever built in Turkey and marks a milestone in the over 70 metre segment.
As the second and largest of five custom yachts based on the shipyard's 80-metre platform, "Angelique" sets a new standard. The yacht has 2,646 GT spread over five decks. The exterior and interior design was created by H2 Yacht Design, with whom Turquoise has been working for over 20 years.
Jonny Horsfield, founder of H2 Yacht Design: "I have worked with Turquoise Yachts for over 20 years and the experience has always been one of co-operation and mutual respect. In that time I have seen the yard develop into a first class operation."
The exterior design is characterised by balanced proportions and flowing lines. The hull, painted in a shade of blue inspired by the Tour de France, harmonises with the sculptural structure of the superstructure, which is characterised by angled grilles and slats at the rear.
The aft deck of the main deck forms the social centre with a 6.5-metre-long pool with counter-current system. On the aft owner's deck there is a bar and a dining area that can be fully enclosed. A touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck doubles as a basketball court.
The aft deck at bridge level offers another lounge as a seamless extension of the wellness facilities. A special area forward serves the crew. The aft sun deck has an open-air cinema, bar and outdoor galley with teppanyaki grill.
The owner's briefing was based on the Art Deco design of the 77 metre long "Go"another collaboration between Turquoise and H2. For "Angelique", H2 developed this concept further in a contemporary direction. Blue accents and rich details run through the interior, from the striking bar in the main salon to the floating Dale Chihuly sculpture in the central stairwell.
Local craftsmanship played a key role in the realisation, with Turquoise again relying on long-time partner Ulutas. "It's the finest I've ever seen from a shipyard," adds Horsfield. The quality of the paintwork is also world class, he adds.
The beach club, with folding side terraces and natural light streaming in through the skylights, also features a drive-in tender dock. Interior staircases lead to the main salon, where a bar flows into circular seating and dining areas.
The owner's deck saloon offers another social space with a games table and cinema screen. The bridge deck has a gym, spa, sauna and hammam. Guests sleep in two VIPs and four cabins on the main deck. The owner's suite includes a lounge with breakfast table, separate dressing rooms, an office and direct access to a private terrace.
"Angelique" is available for charter through Robert Shepherd at Edmiston and joins the broker's fleet. The yacht flies the flag of the Cayman Islands and is equipped with two MTU 12V4000 M65L engines, each with 1,893 kilowatts at 1,800 rpm, which enable a top speed of 17 knots.
