The Dutch shipyard Damen Yachting has reached another milestone: the third yacht in the successful YS53 series has been launched in Antalya. The 53-metre-long support vessel combines state-of-the-art technology with luxurious comfort and is scheduled for delivery in summer 2025.

Support yacht comes with proven concept

Damen Yachting's yacht support series has evolved from the world of fast offshore support vessels, where reliability, seaworthiness and unrivalled functionality are required at the highest level. With the YS53, this concept is aimed at the next generation of yacht owners. The shipyard has already delivered over 20 custom support yachts.

More about support yachts:

Design and functionality in harmony

The exterior design of the third YS53 continues the series' striking blend of modern practicality and sharp, angular lines, with performance and durability at the forefront. The bow is designed to cut effortlessly through the waves. The high bow and pronounced splash rails keep the deck dry and ensure safety, while sensitive equipment is protected from salt water even in the harshest conditions. The forward sloping windows are not only a visual statement, but also improve visibility in bad weather, minimise night-time glare, reduce heat and increase space.

15-tonne crane on board the support yacht

The versatility of the YS53 is particularly evident outdoors. The large stern platform is designed for action, whether for launching tenders and toys with the 15-tonne crane or for discovery tours.

With a top speed of 19 knots and a range of 5000 nautical miles at 12 knots, the YS53 offers impressive performance data. Over 200 square metres of deck space on the main deck are available for toys, tenders and individual customer requests.

Successful series with individual accents

The YS53 series has already proven itself in practice: BAD COMPANY SUPPORT 175 was the very first YS53 and acts as the operational backbone of the owner's fleet. It is used for deep-sea fishing as well as for scientific purposes. FIVE OCEANS, the second YS53, was designed specifically for adventure, exploration and conservation. Each vessel in the series is customised to the needs and wishes of the respective owner, while retaining the basic design.

The completion

Pim Oostra, Project Manager for YS 5303 at Damen Yachting, is confident: "The launch really reflects that this latest yacht support design has now established itself as a series. We are looking forward to the final stages of construction as we prepare everything for completion this summer." Final outfitting and sea trials will take place over the coming months before the support yacht is ready for delivery in summer 2025.
