The fifth Pershing 140 is afloat. Unlike its predecessors, this aluminium yacht is a brilliant white instead of the usual grey. The owner customised the interior to his wishes, including a beach area with a bar instead of a tender garage.

On 9 May 2026, the fifth Pershing 140 will leave the superyacht shipyard in Ancona. The aluminium yacht marks a visual departure from the previous units in the series. While the first four units were painted in aluminium grey, the number five is a brilliant white at the owner's request. With two main decks plus a sun deck, the 140 epitomises the sporty character of the brand.

The Pershing 140 was created in collaboration between designer Fulvio De Simoni, Ferretti's product development department headed by Piero Ferrari and the in-house design department. Pershing GTX 70

Bar instead of tender garage

The owner has modified the layout in several places. The beach area at the stern dispenses with the usual tender garage and becomes a social zone with a bar. Steps lead up to the cockpit with a lounge equipped with sofas and free-standing armchairs opposite a large sunbathing area.

The glass door between the cockpit and main deck leads directly into the dining area. A round table offers space for up to eight people. The light-flooded lounge is furnished with a sofa and four free-standing armchairs in front of the TV. Towards the bow, the master suite follows across the entire width.

More storage space instead of a make-up table

The owner has also changed the standard layout for his suite: An L-shaped sofa and additional storage space replace the make-up table. The lower deck accommodates four guest cabins, all with their own bathrooms and showers.

Pullman beds were installed at the owner's request, and two cabins can accommodate up to three people each. The two VIPs have double beds, one of which converts into two single beds. This allows the cabins to be used in different ways, depending on the composition of the guests.

Meeting point sun deck

The raised wheelhouse is connected to the sundeck, which also shines in beige and white. The top floor functions as a large panoramic terrace with a bar, sofas with poufs and the second helm station with three pilot seats. The bow terrace with lounge, jacuzzi and sunbathing area can be reached via the side walkways.

A Pershing with a 35 knot tip

Technically, the yacht is powered by four MTU 16V 2000 engines, each with an output of 1,912 kilowatts. In combination with the water jet propulsion, it achieves a top speed of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 30 knots. These data place the Pershing 140 in the upper segment of performance yachts. The water jet drive ensures efficiency, while the aluminium construction contributes to weight reduction and supports the sporty performance.

Pershing has launched more than 30 models since 1985. The current fleet comprises nine yachts from 54 to 140 feet in the Generation X and GTX Sport Utility Yacht ranges. The Pershing 140 is the flagship and the brand's first all-aluminium superyacht. Production takes place at the Mondolfo shipyard, which covers over 84,500 square metres.

Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
