With the 32.25 metre Majesty 100 Terrace, Gulf Craft is presenting the latest model in its extensive portfolio. Designed by the Dutch Phathom Studio, the three-decker surprises with plenty of volume, airy European design and a sophisticated bow lounge that will find many fans. On-board visit in Dubai.

In February, the desert metropolis guarantees constant sunshine and fantastic temperatures of around 25 degrees Celsius. Northern Europeans in particular appreciate the meteorological advantages of the emirate and flock to the city of skyscrapers, which is also more popular with expats than almost any other megacity in the world. Around 90 per cent of Dubai's 3.9 million inhabitants are expatriates; no other country attracts more working nomads.

Successor to a successful model

The winter in northern Germany certainly gives you plenty of reasons to think about such a move. For BOOTE EXCLUSIV, however, it's not about winter escapism, but about - how could it be otherwise - a new yacht that celebrated its world premiere during the Dubai International Boat Show at the beginning of March. Together with Matthias Ebert, Managing Director of the German Gulf Craft dealer ME Yachting, we visit the show in the financial centre of the UAE and are given an extensive tour of the new Majesty 100 Terrace. "This model is hugely important for the shipyard, as it replaces the previous Majesty 100 model, which is one of the top sellers in Gulf Craft's superyacht portfolio with 17 units sold," explains Matthias Ebert as we walk along the walkways of the compact exhibition centre. With four boats sold so far in just six months, the shipyard is extremely satisfied. "This is a very good start, which speaks in favour of the successful concept. The construction time for a 150-tonne displacement 100 Terrace, which is made from GRP sandwich using the vacuum infusion process, is 13 months. Ten units are to be delivered per year from 2026," comments market expert Ebert. Gulf Craft has proven for many years that it can handle this rate. The shipyard on the outskirts of Dubai employs 1,350 workers from 42 countries, produces 400 boats between 27 and 175 feet per year and has delivered around 9,000 vessels since it opened 33 years ago.

European premiere in Cannes

At 199 gross tonnes, the remarkably voluminous GRP semi-glider, which celebrates its European premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival at the beginning of September, introduces a whole range of modern design elements that have a significant positive impact on life on board. The Majesty 100 Terrace is modelled on the 34.10 metre long Majesty 111 the second collaboration between Gulf Craft and the young creative team from Phathom Studio in Leiden, the Netherlands.

Private owner's terrace

The semi-glider consistently continues the concept of the previous models. Kostas Christodoulou, COO of the shipyard in Umm Al Quwain, explains the new design ideas while standing on the aft deck: "We wanted to integrate practical solutions that have rarely been found in this density on a 100-foot superyacht before." A key element of the concept is the private lounge terrace in the bow, which offers owners a private outdoor area with breathtaking views directly in front of their suite without having to enter the main deck. This visually well-protected area, which gives the model its name, is located directly below the foredeck, into which large skylights have been integrated. The terrace is not only an unusual highlight of the layout, but also an open-plan retreat with a sunbathing area and cosy seating furniture, which, thanks to its airiness, allows you to be very close to the sea. The owner's suite, which is divided into a dressing room, bathroom and bedroom, is located under the jacuzzi, where a glass floor with switchable glass also allows natural light to enter the cabin if desired.

Balconies increase the deck area

When designing the new Majesty model, the focus was on more living space on deck, which is a radical change for a shipyard from the heat metropolis of Dubai, where life - at least in summer - largely takes place in air-conditioned rooms. "Gulf Craft is clearly focussing on the European market with this new model, which is also reflected in the contemporary and elegant interior, in which many owners and charter guests from Europe will feel very comfortable," says experienced yacht broker Matthias Ebert. In his opinion, one of the best places on board, in addition to the owner's terrace, is the newly designed aft cockpit with folding balconies, which increase the usable area at anchor by 20 per cent. On the bathing platform one deck below, the mirror opens at the touch of a button and a large sun lounger folds down. You can't enjoy a yacht closer to the sea than this. "This space is particularly marvellous at sea, with a view of the foaming stern wave or at anchor, directly above the bathing platform," says Matthias Ebert.

Light-flooded interior

When designing the interiors, the Phathom team led by interior designer Raquel Hernandez Grijota opted for a contemporary, airy mix of marble, white oak and brushed brass, using sustainable materials wherever possible. "We wanted to create warm, pleasant spaces in which you don't feel cramped and which make you feel close to the sea," explains the designer. A staircase connecting all three decks acts as a central design element in the main saloon and dining area. Here, a large skylight creates a bright atmosphere, with rays of sunlight falling from the upper deck down to the lower deck, creating a light, inviting atmosphere.

Negative bridge windows against reflections

With four cabins on the lower deck and the generously proportioned owner's suite on the main deck with adjoining bow terrace, the Majesty 100 Terrace was designed for both owners and charter guests. Kostas Christodoulou is convinced: "The yacht appeals to a wide audience." The bridge is located in front of the saloon, which also has floor-to-ceiling windows and a large bar, and is dominated by three MFDs from Menu. Behind the captain's chair is an L-shaped sofa for the owner and his guests. "The exciting thing about the bridge setup is the negative bridge windows," says Matthias Ebert. "On the previous model, the Majesty 100, the bridge was vertically glazed, which led to unpleasant reflections when sailing at night. We received this feedback from captains, which led to the design of this bridge." Directly in front of the wheelhouse is a U-shaped bow lounge with two tables, two metres in front of which is a whirlpool for splashing around. On the port side, a private companionway leads to the main deck and the covered owner's lounge in the bow, which leads directly to the master suite. The crew lives in two cabins in the bow, the captain's cabin is located in front of the engine room and next to the galley and mess room.

Various motor options

As is usual for semi-custom formats, the owner has several engine options when configuring his dream yacht: MAN, Caterpillar and MTU are available. Construction number 1, which is being used as an exhibition yacht this year, has the standard set-up with two MAN engines, each with an output of 1397 kilowatts. This gives the 7.30 metre wide 150-tonner a top speed of 20 knots. At an economical ten knots, the just over 15,000 litres of diesel in the bunker are sufficient for a range of 1750 nautical miles.

Forward-looking perspectives

The rapid success of the €8.85 million Majesty 100 Terrace has prompted discussions within the shipyard about the introduction of similar bow lounge concepts in future models. Kostas Christodoulou is optimistic about the future: "We are constantly evolving. By carefully analysing market trends and customer feedback, we ensure that every new model improves the on-board experience."

Exciting projects on the horizon

The Majesty line currently consists of eight models with lengths between 49 and 175 feet, but the fleet continues to grow. Two major projects are currently underway in Umm Al Quwain that will cause a sensation. The 49.50 metre Majesty 160, designed by Cristiano Gatto, will be launched in 2026 and the 61 metre Majesty 200 flagship, designed by Mulder Design, is due to follow two years later. Superyachts from the desert are on the rise.
