From 24 to 26 May, the super-rich arrived in their super yachts for Formula 1. And those who treat themselves to a berth right next to the race track have to dig deeper into their pockets. It is no news that this special kind of excursion is extremely expensive. The course of the track means that yacht owners can position themselves right next to the race track and have a clear view of the action. In his latest video, superyacht expert "Esysman Superyachts" reveals how much a berth in the popular Port Hercule costs.
Even away from events such as the Monaco Yacht Show or Formula 1, the city is not cheap. But how is the price of a berth actually calculated? The costs for the central harbour are based on the total length of the yacht. We take the example of the expert "Esysman Superyachts": The following prices refer to yachts between 100 and 110 metres in length.
One day in the low season costs 1411.20 euros. In the high season, things look different again: Owners pay around 2876.40 euros per day for their superyacht. If you still want to "save", it is cheaper to book a complete month. In the low season, the price is 29,240.40 euros. In the high season, the price is 42,698.40 euros.
For those who want to moor their yacht alone near the race track in the world-famous harbour, this involves considerably higher costs. In his video, the superyacht expert shows the mega yacht "Faith". It is owned by Canadian billionaire Michael Latifi and was in the front row. With a length of 97 metres, his yacht is one of the larger models. But there was no more space available right next to the Formula 1 circuit.
"Faith" was moored for a week (20 to 27 May) in Zone 1, which is one berth further than the berths for smaller yachts, which can be moored directly on the shore. According to the price list, Latifi has to pay 129,990 euros for the period, including taxes. By comparison, that's almost three months in Port Hercule during the high season.
According to "Esysman", there were three zones during the Grand Prix where owners could moor their yachts.
