Dear readers, our ranking of the 200 largest yachts in the world attracts a great deal of attention year after year and is picked up by numerous media - both nationally and internationally. And rightly so, because the density of information we provide in our ranking and on 28 pages is unrivalled.
The extensive research work for the Top 200 sailing yachts, which my colleagues Uske Berndt and Sören Gehlhaus have shared this year, has resulted in a valuable treasure trove of expertise that cannot be compiled in such a condensed form using AI tools, nor is it available anywhere else. For us as superyacht experts, it's a pleasure to delve so deeply into this fascinating topic in order to inform and entertain you in the best possible way. Such a detailed look at the largest yachts in the world offers exciting insights that go far beyond the gigantic dimensions, sail areas and technical innovations of the individual vessels. For example, we were surprised by the fact that more than 20 percent of the listed formats are for sale this year, including real gems such as the brand new 44.30 metre "Magic" (ranked 153rd, 45 million euros), the 62 metre new ketch "Simena" (ranked 21st, 45.9 million euros) or the 59 metre giant "Maximus" (ranked 31st, 79.5 million euros). Other exceptional formats such as "Aquijo" (7th place) or the 66-metre "Anatta" (15th place) found a new owner without the yachts even coming onto the market.
"Black Pearl" has been with us as an editorial team since the start of construction in 2014. 106.70 metres long, the three-master with DynaRig is a technical sensation even eight years after delivery, which the visionary owner Oleg Burlakov was only able to enjoy for a short time. He died of a Covid-19 infection in 2021, as his family announced at the time. Since this spring, the sailing superlative with its opulent Louis XIV-style interior has been open to charter guests and, fortunately, to us too. This much can already be revealed here: It was worth the wait! Find out what up to 14 guests can expect for a charter rate of 1.2 million euros per week.
It took five years to build the highly complex 118.8 metre long "Breakthrough", which is currently for sale for a reported 600 million euros, making it one of the most expensive yachts in history. The impressive RWD design is the world's first hydrogen fuel cell yacht, which recently successfully completed technical sea trials. The Feadship-Giga is one of the floating highlights of this year's Monaco Yacht Show, which is expecting 120 yachts at Port Hercule. A record!
Enjoy this issue!
Yours sincerely, Martin Hager
