The yacht builders with halls in Istanbul launched "Miouch", construction number 1 of the new "Mediterranean Explorer" model, MXP for short. The new development, styled by the shipyard's trusted partner Can Yalman, was launched at the Gebze site and is being marketed as a further development of the successful 37XP model, of which 14 units have been sold to date.
The new Explorer model seems to have struck a chord with customers. "We have already sold three 40MXP before the first unit has even touched the water," says Numarine's Managing Director Murat Şen with satisfaction. Thanks to a hull shape optimised by Umberto Tagliavini and efficient engines, the 40MXP has a range of 6,000 nautical miles at eight knots, which means it can also conquer the Pacific. The abbreviation MXP stands for "Mediterranean Explorer", as the model offers the typical "beach club lifestyle" of modern Mediterranean yachts. This includes two pools, one on the aft main deck and a second one deck above.
The yacht accommodates up to twelve guests in six suites. The owner's suite is located on the forward main deck and spans the entire width, while the guests and VIPs sleep one deck below. Both the interior and the exterior were designed by the Turkish studio Can Yalman, which has also designed Numarine models in the past. The main difference to the previous series is that the beach club and garage of the 37XP have been replaced by a full-width hydraulic bathing platform that provides direct access to the water. The 40MXP is also two metres longer than its predecessor, with the extra space mainly dedicated to the aft deck. This has created space for a large dining table in the aft cockpit, a bar, a lounge and the pool with a glass stern. An extendable awning provides shade when required and at the touch of a button. In the engine room, the standard configuration features two MAN engines, each with 600 kilowatts of power for a moderate twelve knots. Other propulsion packages are available to choose from.
At the end of last year, the shipyard presented the Concept of their 45-metre flagship XP 45 with a design by Hot Lab. It is not yet known when construction number 1 of the 450-tonne vessel will be launched. Numarine is currently working on eleven newbuilds with lengths between 22 and 40 metres and in various stages of construction.
