The Overmarine Group is continuing the success story of its Mangusta Oceano 39. The fifth unit of the displacement yacht was launched in Viareggio at the beginning of March. An experienced owner had commissioned the yacht and commissioned the Milan studio M2Atelier with the interior design. The yacht was created in collaboration between the shipyard's in-house development department and designer Alberto Mancini, who is responsible for the exterior design. The Oceano 39 stands out for its generous volume of 330 gross tonnes and architectural solutions that create a constant connection to the sea.
The sleek, contemporary profile and the glazed side walls on the upper deck characterise the visual language of the yacht. Wide, floor-to-ceiling glass windows can be partially opened and create a flowing transition between the interior and exterior areas. The spatial perception is enhanced by natural light. Several characteristic elements of this series have become standard design features of Mangusta. The aft beach house with side terraces facing the sea is one of them, as is the front infinity pool with glass floor. These design elements characterise the entire Oceano line and have been adopted by the market as recognisable features.
The fifth Mangusta Oceano 39 has two MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, each with 2,600 hp at 2,450 rpm. This motorisation enables a maximum speed of 19 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots. The displacement design with three decks is suitable for comfortable ocean crossings. The yacht measures 39 metres in length and its steel construction provides the stability and range required for long-distance voyages.
The Overmarine Group was founded in 1985 by the Balducci family and is internationally recognised for its exclusive yachts under the Mangusta brand. The company's roots go back to the 1950s. The shipyard initially specialised in the construction of fast 20 to 50-metre yachts made of composite materials. From 2015, the group expanded its range to include displacement yachts made of steel and aluminium as well as semi-displacement aluminium yachts between 42 and 54 metres in length. To date, 25 metal yachts have been delivered, joining over 320 composite units, 150 of which exceed the 100-foot mark.
The three Mangusta lines Maxi Open REV, Oceano and GranSport embody different concepts of life at sea. Giuseppe Balducci founded the company, and his children Maurizio and Katia joined him in the 1990s. The third generation is now also working in the family business. The shipyard employs around 200 people directly and indirectly. The production facilities in Viareggio, Massa and Pisa cover a total of 210,000 square metres, with the Pisa site having recently been expanded.
Each yacht is created as a customised project with a fully Italian supply chain from design to final outfitting. A 24-hour customer service rounds off the offer. The company's international presence is ensured by its own branches in Miami and on the Côte d'Azur as well as a selected dealer network in Turkey, Israel and the Balearic Islands. After celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2025, the Overmarine Group continues to look ahead.
