85 metres: The "Project Armand" sends its 18 guests on illustrious adventure journeys. Through the air, on or under the surface of the water

Officina Armare is pushing the 85-metre-long "Project Armand" into the limelight - and with it a design that looks quite slim despite its 15-metre width, with visual reminiscences of the world of fast sports cars.

With 2500 gross tonnes, the lady has a considerable volume of space in which the 18 guests can spread out over five decks. If you add the lowest storage deck, which will probably only be accessed by the 21 crew members, there are six floors. Overall, the layout is quite unusual: not so much the two-storey owner's penthouse, which extends over the bridge and sun deck and whose lounge is accompanied by a wine cellar, cigar bar and Jacuzzi terrace.

But even the upper deck is remarkable: a floor that is basically dominated by a huge saloon, gym and spa as well as a bar lounge in the bow. On the relatively small stern terrace there is a round table designated for breakfast or an elegant dinner in a more private atmosphere. The layout of the main deck is impressive. There are six suites at the front, including a VIP in the bow and a small piano saloon in the centre. The aft section consists of a gigantic cockpit, well protected by the bulwarks, with a long dining table and two lounge areas. A pool with a glass floor and amphitheatre-style sunbathing areas with steps are likely to make the area the centre of life on board. So that guests don't get bored, they can immerse themselves in other worlds at the touch of a finger. The concave walls to the lounge are fitted with LED screens that conjure up a virtual reality and transport guests to the Serengeti Desert, for example, or allow them to take part in a Grand Prix race. Those who want to expand their horizons in a more real way can go one floor down to the "Man Cave".

"Project Armand" with lounge and diving school

Instead of a beach club, guests will find a finely furnished cave with a lounge and a diving school under the pool. A trip on the "Super Sub" from U-Boat Worx, which is waiting in a floodable garage and takes passengers deep below the water's surface with four thrusters and a 30-degree angle of inclination, promises the greatest adventure. Guests who prefer to take to the air head towards the bow to the helipad. When the aero tender is on its way, a party can be held in the empty car park. Or the area can be transformed into a veritable outdoor cinema, with a 201-inch screen from C Seed including surround sound units on the bow.

In comparison to the wide range of entertainment options, the yacht's propulsion system remains rather conventional. Two Caterpillar gensets with 1745 kilowatts of power each or a diesel-electric propulsion package are planned.

Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
