Turquoise Yachts has launched its new flagship, Project Vento. Developed with H2 Yacht Design, the 87-metre vessel is the largest private yacht from Turkey.

The Turkish shipyard has opened a new chapter in its history with the 87-metre-long Mega NB74 Project Vento. The steel and aluminium construction was launched at the shipyard in Pendik, Istanbul, and marks a milestone: at 2,550 GT, it is the largest private yacht ever built in Turkey. Top speed: 17 knots.

The project is the culmination of a long collaboration between Turquoise and H2 Yacht Design, which has now spanned twelve projects over 17 years. The British design studio was responsible for both the exterior lines and the interior. 81 metre Rafale.

87 metres and five decks

Project Vento features balanced proportions and flowing lines that skilfully conceal the five-storey design and the volume of 2,550 GT. The hull inspired by the "Tour de France blue" goes well with the superstructure, which is given a classic yet contemporary look by angled grilles and louvre details.

"The culmination of more than 30 years of tradition, Vento is an achievement," explains Burak Akgül, CEO of Turquoise Yachts. "Vento reflects the expertise, commitment and passion that goes into the design, engineering and manufacturing at Turquoise Yachts."

Sophisticated outdoor terraces

One highlight is the beach club with fold-out terraces on both sides. Skylights guide natural light down through the pool above and create a bright retreat very close to the water. On the main deck, the 6.5 metre long glass pool with counter-current system is framed by a sheltered seating area.

The stern terrace of the owner's deck is centred around a bar and dining area, which is closed off by sliding glass doors. Forward, the private owner's deck offers a sunken seating area and a Jacuzzi. The helipad on the foredeck doubles as a basketball court.

Turquoise Yachts opts for H2 Yacht Design

Vento's interior was inspired by another collaboration between Turquoise and H2 that the client had seen: the 77 metre yacht "Go". "Borrowing from Go, Vento has an Art Deco-inspired interior that we have taken to a new level," says Jonny Horsfield, founder of H2 Yacht Design.

Blue accents and glamorous details adorn the rooms throughout the interior. The main saloon has a bar and a circular seating arrangement next to a circular dining area for 16 guests. On the owner's deck there is another saloon with a cinema screen, games table and seating. The open staircase features a sculpture created by Dale Chihuly.

Sport and wellness on the bridge deck

Guest accommodations, including two VIPs and four guest cabins, are located on the main deck, with each cabin distinguished by its own colour palette and decor. The master suite on the forward part of the owner's deck includes a private lounge, separate dressing rooms, an office and a raised breakfast table overlooking the bow. Side sliding glass doors open onto the terrace.

Sporty guests will love the bridge deck, where there is a large, glazed gym with views in three directions. This space is connected to a spa plus sauna and hammam.

Good co-operation

Occam Marine took over the representation of the owner. "The collaboration with Turquoise was characterised by transparency, a shared commitment to excellence and a true spirit of partnership," comments Giles Frankal, co-founder of Occam Marine. Following delivery, Vento will be available for charter through Robert Shepherd at Edmiston.
