The Milan-based design studio has unveiled a new 75-metre concept, Project Velor. The superyacht with a volume of 1,700 gross tonnes has a diesel-electric propulsion system with four generators - two with 1,000 kilowatts and two with 500 kilowatts of power.
The centrepiece of Project Velor is a unique spatial concept that was developed together with Francesco Rogantin from Studio Names. As the engine room was placed on the lower lower deck, the layout is completely new. This creates a vertical and horizontal flow throughout the entire yacht, which is up to 13 metres wide.
On Project Velor, Nauta Design accommodates the comfort of a five-deck boat on just four floors. Milano: The latest chic from Milan. The rooms on board each have their own function and stand for socialising, wellness or rest, for example.
The outer lines are elegant, with soft and flowing curves contrasting with sharp bevelled edges. The aft terraces almost seem to dissolve at their rear ends. Lamella-like "brise-soleil" overhangs create changing light and depth.
Everywhere on board, Nauta Design celebrates the seamless connection to the sea. Spacious and open decks, huge windows, transparent railings and airy staircases allow the interior and exterior areas to flow into one another.
The outdoor spaces can be used flexibly, such as the sun deck or the foredeck (with pool!). The open-air beach club or "water patio" on the aft lower deck represents a radical departure from conventional, enclosed lounges or tiered terraces. The large pool flows seamlessly into the airy lounge.
Martino Majno, Director at Nauta Design: "This outdoor area is only possible by placing the single-storey engine room below the lower deck. We have been working on this technical solution for around eight years, and the result here is a multifunctional lounge that is suitable for yoga, wellness, meetings or retreats. All with an unobstructed view of the sea."
