The venue for the event was the Borgo Santandrea in Amalfi, a five-star resort in the heart of the Italian coast. The centre of attention was the Riva 54METRI, bobbing at anchor almost within arm’s reach. It is the largest model the Riva brand has ever built.
The weekend was aimed at owners of the various Ferretti Group brands and combined the Italian yachting lifestyle with Mediterranean hospitality. Alongside the Riva 54METRI, a whole fleet of Ferrettis was moored at anchor. The event also provided the setting for the opening of the new Riva Lounge on the hotel terrace. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held CEO Stassi Anastassov the tape to the input.
The Riva 54METRI is built entirely from aluminium and is the new flagship of this long-established brand. Its owner already owns a (smaller) Riva and was so impressed by the concept that he immediately took the superyacht—which had been built on spec—to his heart.
The evening’s presentation was accompanied by a drone show that lit up the sky above the Amalfi Coast, spelling out the words “Riva 54 metri” in the sky, amongst other things. The dinner was accompanied by artistic performances, including a singer performing excerpts from “Carmen” and a band playing Italian and international hits.
Stassi Anastassov, the new CEO of the Ferretti Group, had been in the role for less than a month when he proudly took to the stage to welcome the guests. For him, the owners and their experiences with family and friends are always at the heart of his work.
Pointing to the 54 METRI, he said, “Carlo would be proud of us,” referring to the founder of Riva. Just as Patek is to the watch world or Ferrari is to the automotive world, Riva is THE brand of the superyacht industry: “We build the best yachts in the world.” A Riva 70METRI will follow shortly.
