The Dutch shipyard is starting a new chapter in yacht building with this project. Ananda also stands for Heesen's focus on speculatively built formats that allow a high degree of customisation even in the development phase. The 72 metres are being built together with Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design.
The yacht is based on an efficient steel hull with hybrid propulsion (two MTU engines plus PTI/PTO gearbox), which enables a transatlantic range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. The maximum speed is 16 knots. In order to optimise resistance, trim, pitching and wave behaviour, various tank tests were carried out at the Wolfson Unit at the University of Southampton.
Access for guests is via a shell door amidships, which opens onto a docking platform. From there, a glass lift leads directly to the cabins. The room layout extends over five decks and focusses on fluid movement and plenty of privacy.
The owner's deck offers two possible variants: one with a private deck in the foredeck or one with a terrace in the stern area. The master suite with office is located "forward", a second VIP on the bridge deck has similar dimensions and allows flexible use for charters or larger families. Heesen "Orion"
The pool area connects directly to a teppanyaki bar in the main lounge. Instead of teak, Heesen uses travertine flooring that extends from the pool to the interior spaces. The deck area is flat throughout and free of visible mooring equipment. The area can also be quickly converted into a party area.
All interiors are created at Heesen Interiors in Winterswijk. The shipyard employs its own interior design company, which guarantees complete control over the execution and ensures Northern European quality standards. The shipyard sees integration into its own production as an advantage over competitors who work with external suppliers.
The spa and beach club located amidships covers around 100 square metres and offers a sauna, steam bath, ice bath, snow shower, massage and treatment room as well as a bar. The integration of various wellness elements in one room concept differs from conventional yacht layouts, where such facilities are often spread out or added later.
Design, construction and tank tests for Ananda have been completed. The keel is scheduled to be laid in November 2026, with launching and delivery scheduled for 2030. The four-year construction period is in line with the standards for formats of this size and complexity.
