The 36-metre SpaceCat catamaran from Silver Yachts plays a leading role in the third season of the hit HBO series "The White Lotus". A look behind the scenes

In the fourth episode of the third season of HBO's acclaimed series "The White Lotus", a special guest takes to the stage: the 36-metre-long yacht SpaceCat from Silver Yachts. The futuristic design was launched in 2022 as the first model in the SpaceCat series.

Collaboration with Espen Øino

SpaceCat was created in collaboration with the Australian shipyard Silver Yachts and the renowned designer Espen Øino. The project was initially described by Øino as a "bold endeavour", as it represented Silver Yachts' first foray into the world of multihulls. The vision was to create something completely new - a "floating villa" offering maximum comfort and space.

Interior of the SpaceCat stands for closeness to nature

The interior design of SpaceCat, created by Pulina Exclusive Interiors, follows the concept of biophilia - the human need to be close to nature. Alessandro Pulina, founder of the design studio, explains that the design aims to create a connection to the natural environment while offering a protected retreat.

Large windows, glass surfaces and mirrors allow plenty of light into the interior and reinforce the feeling of space. The use of natural woods and minimalist aesthetics emphasise the focus on the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces. The result is a bright, airy ambience that blurs the boundaries between the yacht and its surroundings.

Outdoor area is also shown in the series "The White Lotus"

A special feature of SpaceCat is the spacious outdoor area, which is much larger than on comparable monohulls thanks to the catamaran design. The highlight is undoubtedly the 10,000 litre swimming pool at the stern, which is embedded between the two hulls. Measuring 5.5 x 2.8 metres, it offers space for swimming and relaxing, surrounded by sun loungers and a stylish bar.

SpaceCat also has a covered sun deck and several shaded areas on the aft deck and foredeck. This variety of outdoor spaces allows guests to spend time in the sun or shade as they wish - a flexibility that would be almost impossible to realise on a monohull yacht of this size.

"The White Lotus" feeling for chartering

While SpaceCat serves as an exclusive location for the actors in the series "The White Lotus", in reality the catamaran is available for both sale and charter. She is currently being offered for charter by Northrop & Johnson around Phuket, Thailand. Her shallow draft makes her ideal for exploring remote islands and the picturesque bays of Phang Nga Bay. The third season of "The White Lotus" is set on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand at the Four Seasons Resort.

For prospective buyers, SpaceCat is currently being offered by IYC and Burgess as Joint Central Agents at a price of 18,800,000 US dollars. Given her construction, luxurious interior and impressive performance, SpaceCat should be an attractive option for both private owners and charter guests.
