The 70 metre long concept was developed together with the shipbuilder and new partner T. Mariotti, which is also providing the building sites. The concept and design of the Super Polaris 70 are the work of the shipyard's chief designer, Antonio Luxardo, while Pulina Exclusive Interiors is responsible for the interior design. The Super Polaris 70 comes with a steel hull and superstructure made of aluminium and composite materials. The spacious and flexible outdoor areas, which can be used as a tender car park or equipped with a ball court and counter-current pool, are remarkable.
The project marks the beginning of the close collaboration between Cantieri di Pisa and T. Mariotti, which was driven forward by CdP CEO Marco Massabò. T. Mariotti, headquartered in Genoa, builds cruise ships, for example, and has the corresponding capacities.
The collaboration with Pulina Exclusive Interiors emphasises other values: "Our history and ties to the region are important to us. We like the idea that we have chosen a globally recognised interior design firm whose innovative spirit and willingness to experiment we appreciate, but which has its roots and headquarters in Pisa," explains Massabò.
The layout of the Super Polaris 70 extends over four decks and offers six double cabins as well as large indoor and outdoor lounges. A lounge and a cinema are located aft on the bridge deck.
The captain's cabin with office and steering position are located in the bow. The upper deck houses the 60 square metre VIP cabin with two five square metre terraces. This deck is completed by another saloon, the main galley and a stern terrace.
There is a conservatory on the main deck and the owner's flat amidships. The master suite covers 95 square metres and is complemented by two side balconies of 20 square metres each. This allows you to enjoy nature in complete privacy during the cruise.
Also on this deck are four double cabins for guests and an open stern terrace with space for two tenders up to twelve metres long and at least four water toys. When the tenders are in the water, loose furniture can be set up here for guests.
There are two garages and even more space for tenders up to 8.5 metres in length and other toys on the lower deck. The beach club has a counter-current pool, gym and spa covering 180 square metres. The bow area is intended for storage rooms and accommodation for the 16 crew members in ten cabins.
The idea of designing the superyacht as a base for adventure is reflected in the interior design. The extensive glass surfaces bring nature right up close.
Alessandro Pulina, founder and CEO of Pulina Exclusive Interiors, comments: "We wanted to create an 'oasis of comfort' that is perfect in any environment. We have tried to combine the neutral shades of natural fabrics such as linen and cashmere with light colours to create a dreamlike environment for travelling."
The two main woods, light and dark walnut variants, create strong contrasts, while travertine marble adorns the walls and worktops. Fine leather, glass, metal inserts and marble add a modern touch
The project prioritises Italian craftsmanship, with furniture and lighting products created in collaboration with leading brands. These have committed to using local raw materials wherever possible.
The Super Polaris 70 from Cantieri di Pisa is powered by two CAT 3512 engines, which, according to the shipyard, enable a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. The planned range at ten knots is around 6,500 nautical miles.
Cantieri di Pisa was founded in 1945 in Limite sull'Arno and moved to the Canale dei Navicelli in 1956, where the company is still based today. In the following decades, it gained international recognition with the Akhir series: the model launched in 1970 became a symbol of the shipyard, not least thanks to the collaboration with Pierluigi Spadolini. In 2021, the shipyard was taken over by Enrico Gennasio.
