The 78.20-metre "Odisea" left the German shipyard Lürssen on 13 March 2026. Built under the project name ACE 21, the yacht combines contemporary design by British studio RWD with worldwide usability. This is the first time that Lürssen has worked with the multi-award-winning studio on the exterior and interior design.

On 13 March 2026, the 78.20-metre-long "Odisea" set off on her maiden voyage from Germany. Lürssen completed the yacht, which was built under the project name ACE 21, and thus realised the first joint project with the British design studio RWD. The collaboration includes both exterior and interior design - a first for the German shipyard and the multi-award-winning studio. Since the turn of the millennium, Lürssen has delivered more than 20 yachts under 80 metres in length, which corresponds to around a third of all Lürssen yachts built during this period. The "Odisea" joins this series and sets new accents in the collaboration between German engineering and British design. The shipyard is positioning the yacht as a combination of exceptional lifestyle features and genuine seaworthiness.

Design philosophy and collaboration

The silhouette of the "Odisea" features a vertical bow and lines that combine clarity with sophistication. Large areas of glazing dissolve traditional architectural boundaries and flood the interior with natural light. The lines of sight extend uninterrupted to the horizon. The interiors are bright and inviting, designed for life at sea. Natural tones, light woods and pale marble define a restrained but warm colour palette. Organic textures and subtle transitions replace ornamentation, while curated artwork and layered surfaces add depth and vibrancy.

Beach House as an architectural highlight

One of the most striking features of the "Odisea" is the Beach House: a glazed lounge on the main deck that opens up on three sides via three-metre-wide sliding doors. The space connects directly to the outside deck and the teak-lined pool integrated into it. Lürssen developed and constructed the Beach House in-house, demonstrating the shipyard's ability to develop and realise large and complex glass structures. The design allows for a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor areas. The technical realisation of the large-scale glazing with the three-metre-wide sliding elements posed particular challenges in terms of statics and sealing.

Versatile equipment and areas

The foredeck offers a sports court that can be used for basketball, pickleball, yoga or Pilates. The sundeck transforms effortlessly from an open retreat into an enclosed sky lounge and features a jacuzzi, bar, fire pit and dining area for up to 20 guests. Two outdoor cinemas, a wellness area and a dedicated water sports zone with diving and fishing facilities complete the facilities. The flexible usability of the areas allows for different scenarios ranging from a sporty activity programme to relaxed entertainment. The water sports zone is specially designed for the use of various sports equipment and offers the necessary infrastructure for divers and anglers. The sun deck can be reconfigured between open and closed depending on weather conditions and usage requirements.

Technical innovation and environmental technology

"Every yacht we build demands something new from us," says Peter Lürssen. Working with RWD on the "Odisea" made it possible to push the boundaries in terms of both engineering and layout. The result is a yacht designed entirely around modern life at sea. She is a proud addition to the fleet. As is standard on all modern Lürssen yachts, the "Odisea" has been fitted with a compact exhaust system with a patented SCR system that significantly reduces NOx emissions.
