Heesen Yachts delivered the 55 metre long steel superyacht YN 20655 at the end of April. With "Solemates", the owners took delivery of their second Heesen.

After the successful Launching In January, "Solemates" proved her skills on the high seas, and now the handover to the happy owners also went smoothly.

The decision in favour of a yacht already under construction on a proven platform significantly shortened the delivery time. "Solemates" was built on the basis of Heesen's successful 55-metre steel platform, with Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) by Van Oossanen Naval Architects and exterior lines by Omega Architects. Things are currently going well in this class; just a few months after "Solemates", Heesen launched the equally long "Project Agnetha" in the water.

Proven basis, all-round suitable yacht

Ralf Oortman, Project Manager for YN 20655 at Heesen Yachts, comments: "The close co-operation with the owner's team was exceptional. Thanks to their experience in yacht building, they understood the intricacies of the build process. Critical to the success of the project was their understanding and knowledge of the client's lifestyle and preferences. This allowed for productive discussions that facilitated decision making and ensured the highest standards were met." The yacht is now a perfect fit for the owner.

Atrium with the wow factor

The atrium, for example, is a real work of art with a 'wow effect' that makes "Solemates" stand out within her series. Silvia Margutti from Luca Dini Design and the Heesen team designed the interior in such a way that the yacht feels customised - even though it is based on a proven platform.

The colour scheme includes fresh and bright accents, plus a redesigned main staircase with acrylic panels inlaid with gold flakes and crystals. The larger whirlpool on the sun deck was also an explicit wish of the owner.

"Solemates" from Heesen is fit for any body of water

With its impressive 760 gross tonnage and efficient steel hull, "Solemates" is designed for comfortable and longer cruises. Range at a speed of 13 knots: 4500 nautical miles. During a sea trial on the North Sea, she demonstrated the reliability expected of a northern European ship and proved herself impeccably.

"Solemates" will now be available for charter through Luxury Yacht Group. Her official debut is planned for the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2025, where she will be a highlight of the Heesen exhibition.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
