A dramatic collision occurred off the coast of Naples when the 78.2 metre long Feadship "Venus" and the 104.6 metre long Lady Moura collided. The incident was filmed by Ricardo Salinas, Mexican entrepreneur and owner of the Lady Moura, and published on Instagram on Wednesday evening (7 August).
Various media outlets are now reporting a day later that a sudden change in the wind led to the collision between the Apple genius' motor yacht and the "Lady Moura". Among others, it is reported at BOAT International"On 22 July, while anchoring, 'Venus' came into contact with 'Lady Moura', which was also at anchor. No family was on board, only the crew. The wind changed very suddenly, increasing from a light breeze to 55 knots in a matter of minutes." It continues: "No boat dragged the anchor, although the other boat had double the chain length. Immediately after the incident, both skippers were in discussions about the necessary repairs."

Salinas blames the crew of the Venus for the collision. In his post, he emphasises that fortunately there was only a scratch, but that it needs to be repaired.
The "Venus" was originally commissioned by Steve Jobs and handed over to his wife Laurene Powell Jobs after his death in 2011 and has been used privately ever since. The exact cause of the collision remains unclear.
The Apple founder commissioned Philippe Starck with the minimalist design of the 78.20 metre long displacer. The Frenchman had a largely free hand in the five-year design process. Eye-catchers: window fronts in the main and upper deck as well as the integrated window strip in the foredeck area. Inside, Apple products provide the ambience and entertainment selection.
"Lady Moura" was launched in 1990 and sold in 2021. She has an estimated value of 125,000,000 US dollars.
