It's not just motorboat novices who throw in the towel in resignation at the constantly repeated gibberish of the "experts" on the subject of trim and trimming.
What seems clear and understandable to one person can be a source of despair to another. But proper trimming is by no means scientific work. This is done by the designer on the computer or drawing board.
He places the engine, tank and fittings in the correct position and determines the (constructive) waterline based on the calculated weight.
The owner then "only" has to make sure that his boat floats on the marked line in the water. This means that it should not be overloaded, stern-heavy or bow-heavy.
Displacers must therefore lie horizontally on the water at rest, whereby the underside of the water pass or the upper edge of the underwater coating should be clearly visible.
If one of the two is below the waterline, the boat is overloaded. Slimming down is the order of the day.
