"Now it's the turn of the younger generation," said long-serving LMN President Benno Wiemeyer. He did not stand for re-election as President. At the meeting in Oldenburg, the previous Deputy President of the LMN, Andreas Prahm, was elected as the new LMN President. Klaus Berelsmann was elected as 1st Deputy President. However, Benno Wiemeyer will not be completely lost to the LMN. He was asked to take over the office of 2nd Deputy President and accepted the election.
During his 15 years in office, Benno Wiemeyer's great commitment led to the creation of the LMN's well-known boat convoys, the Wadden Sea practical training programme, the seminars for the boards of the member associations and the weather seminars. Numerous secondary waterways in Lower Saxony were also mapped on his initiative and the maps were distributed free of charge in cooperation with the tourism centres. The number of member clubs grew from less than 30 to more than 80 today during Wiemeyer's term of office. www.lm-n.de

After almost three decades at the helm of the Bavarian Motor Yacht Association (BMYV), Klaus Michael Weber (74) has handed over his office as President to the next generation.
At the members' meeting on 8 March 2025 in Regensburg, Weber handed over responsibility to his successor, Michael Klos. The 38-year-old property economist from Volkach had previously been active as 1st Vice President for a year and was unanimously elected as the new President by the members. He announced that he would focus both on expanding the Danube infrastructure and on strengthening youth work.
In future, Klos will be supported by Christian Gödel (51) from Vilshofen, who was also unanimously elected as the new 1st Vice President. Gödel had already shown great commitment to the association's Danube initiative last year and provided important impetus for improving the infrastructure for pleasure craft.
In his last report, Klaus Weber looked back on the eventful year 2024. With projects such as the Danube Conference in Niederwinkling, he was able to bring together important players from politics, administration and associations. Klaus Weber was named Honorary President for his decades of service and was given a fond farewell by numerous companions.
