The youth of motorboat racing from three national associations started the new season in April with sunshine, a good atmosphere and a varied programme.

The state associations of Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia held a joint season opening around the grounds of MSV Germersheim, which was met with great enthusiasm by young people, organisers and guests.

Motosurfing celebrates its premiere

For the first time, the young trend sport of motosurfing was integrated into the season opening - and 40 young people ventured onto the electrically powered surfboards, which were provided by the MotoSurf Club Germany and the German Motor Yacht Association (DMYV), including full safety equipment.

Action away from the water too

A creative Olympics with skill stations, knot tying, ring throwing and a tricky puzzle awaited the participants on land. A joint cake buffet and a cosy barbecue in the clubhouse rounded off the event.

Special recognition was given to the commitment of numerous helpers - including the Leimersheim Jet Boat Club, which provided rides on jet skis, and the Staudt family, in particular youth leader Beatrix Staudt, whose organisational talent contributed significantly to the success of the day.

German motosurfing duo qualifies for World Games

Jennifer Beckmann from Hamburg and Sebastian Lux from Bad Oeynhausen from MotoSurf-Club Germany will be competing for Germany in China. The qualifying heats took place at the Fujairah International Marine Club (FIMC) at the end of February. A total of 24 starting positions were allocated for men and women. Participation in the World Games is an important step, especially with a view to the World Games in 2029, which are to be held in Germany in Karlsruhe.
