In past folding bike tests, Brompton has always received excellent ratings for its small pack size and riding characteristics. Now the British manufacturer is launching another version with the G Line. New are the larger 20-inch Schwalbe G-One wheels, which are also wider than standard. This should make it possible to ride comfortably on poorer routes away from tarmac paths. In the G Line Electric version, there is also an electric drive in the rear wheel with 250 watts of power. The battery is integrated into the bag on the handlebars. Braking is provided by electric disc brakes. The Brompton G Line has been available to pre-order in the colours orange, green and white since the end of September. However, it will not be delivered until December, before Christmas according to the manufacturer.
Cushion fenders offer large-area protection without rolling sideways. The Outils Ocean models are now available from wholesaler Lindemann. The company Inuwatec offers an outboard motor bracket that can simply be attached to the bathing ladder. This allows the dinghy drive to bring the boat safely back to its mooring if the engine breaks down. The construction is made of stainless steel, the motor mount is made of PVC. The bracket is adjustable and can therefore be adapted to many types of swim ladder. In an emergency, it is hung over the rungs of the ladder from above and then the outboard motor is attached. The bracket must be adjusted once and should then be ready for use quickly. This can be particularly helpful on small and older boats with a corresponding transom, for example a Coronet 24.
