Coveted moorings: Charter boats on Plau's Metowufer.
Plau am See has two new moorings and doubles its capacity to 195 guest berths - just a few steps away from the old town centre.

Between the historic lift bridge from 1916 and the Plauer lock, 240 metres of the newly constructed quay wall have been designated for mooring. Another harbour with 70 berths, which is managed by the Müritz fishermen, is opening under the lighthouse built in 2012 at the confluence of the Elde and Lake Plau. With the new harbour facilities, the tourist resort on the Müritz-Elde waterway is building on the success of previous years. From 2004 to 2009, boat arrivals rose from 4000 to 8000 per year.
