A new partnership in the motorised water sports sector is attracting attention: Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation, and the German Motor Yacht Association (DMYV) have agreed to work together to provide engines and spare parts for boats in the youth and competitive sports sector
As the sole representative of motorised water sports in Germany, the DMYV is a member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) - the world association for motorised water sports. The partnership with Mercury Marine is intended to ensure that the boats in the youth and competitive sports sector are equipped with engines that not only meet the high UIM standards, but can also withstand the rigours of training and competition.
Frank Dettmering, President of the German Motor Yacht Association: "Mercury offers a wide range of engines that meet our needs - from small inflatable boats to powerful catamarans. The UIM conformity of Mercury engines enables our athletes to compete not only nationally but also internationally in accordance with the rules. We look forward to working with Mercury and thank them for their support."
Will Sangster, President of Mercury Marine EMEA, was also positive about the partnership: "We are proud to support the next generation of motorised water sports enthusiasts and offer performance and reliability to help them reach their full potential." The new partnership between Mercury Marine and the DMYV is therefore an important step in promoting motorised water sports in Germany for the coming years.
Mercury Marine headquartered in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is the world's leading manufacturer of marine recreational propulsion engines. A division of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), Mercury provides engines, boats, services and parts for recreational boating, commercial and government applications. Water sports interests are represented by the Executive Committee, the departments, the Association Council and the boards of the regional associations and clubs. The members in the clubs and regional associations are the main pillars of the association. The DMYV has around 500 member clubs with several thousand individual members who belong to the respective regional associations.
