Bang & Olufsen cooperated with Riva for two portable speakers. And not just for the development. The yacht builders from Sarnico produce the mahogany panelling for the 2400 euro version with handle, Beosound A5. The Danes assemble it at their headquarters in Strüer, North Jutland, and laser engrave logos on the navy blue anodised aluminium. The ability to replace individual parts and load software updates is designed to increase longevity. Thanks to the RoomSense function, the playback adapts to the respective room, which can be above or below deck. The wireless charging function, IP65 water resistance and a battery life of up to twelve hours qualify the A5 for use on yachts - that would be enough for background music from Portofino to Porto Cervo and back again, travelling at around 20 knots.
The solid aluminium Beosound 2 loudspeaker is crowned by a decorative strip in Riva's signature aquamarine. Here too, the Danes utilise the advantages of in-house production: The housing is given a double navy blue anodised finish before the grille is precision-milled. The conical speaker body is designed to create a 360-degree sound experience and is offered by Bang & Olufsen and Riva for 5000 euros.
