Two well-designed products demonstrate how meals can be organised more easily and safely whilst travelling – whether for quickly reheating pre-cooked meals or for getting children involved in the on-board kitchen.

The HeatsBox combines food storage for on the go with meal reheating. The pre-cooked food is placed in the stainless-steel container inside and sealed to prevent leaks. It can then be heated to up to 85 degrees Celsius in 15 to 20 minutes. This can be done at the touch of a button or using a preset time in the app. The meal is heated using heating elements powered by an integrated lithium battery. The HeatsBox can heat up to two meals and is then recharged via a USB-C charger in two hours. The HeatsBox GO 2.0 model costs 159 euros >> available here.

The MINI Family kitchen set has been designed for children to help them in the galley whilst preventing injuries. The plastic blades, which are rounded at the front and have a serrated edge, cut vegetables but not fingers – they aren’t sharp enough for that. This is particularly useful on board, as the ship’s movements make things even more challenging for the little ones. The set includes three knives of different sizes, a peeler, a chopping tool and a small bamboo chopping board. Made in Denmark. Price: 49 euros. Further information: minifamily.eu
