The LJN150N model from Tribord is being recalled.
Decathlon has discovered significant defects in the LJ150N lifejacket from Tribord. Customers who own the product should return it immediately.

The French sporting goods manufacturer Decathlon has launched a recall campaign for the LJ150N tribord lifejacket with harness system. Products with the reference number 8801769 that were sold between 1 March and 10 June 2025 are affected. Quality tests have shown that the waistcoat does not meet the requirements of the ISO-12402 standard.

No help in an emergency

The main problem is the stability of the air chambers. Repeated impacts on the waistcoat can cause them to rupture, leading to a loss of buoyancy in an emergency and greatly increasing the risk of drowning. This is an unacceptable safety risk for sailors and water sports enthusiasts.

Decathlon strongly advises against continuing to use the affected life jackets. Customers should return the product to a Decathlon shop immediately. There they will receive a full refund of the purchase price, no questions asked. The recall is being carried out as a precautionary measure to rule out any risk.

Sailors affected must look for alternatives. A look at our large lifejacket test can help: 24 automatic waistcoats in the big comparison test.

Maintenance and care of lifejackets

The incident emphasises the importance of regular lifejacket maintenance. Sailors should check their equipment thoroughly before each season: Visually inspect for damage to the outer material, check the manual and automatic release (there is usually an indicator here, which must be green), check the CO2 cartridge for tight fit and corrosion and check all seams and fasteners. In the event of anomalies or at least every two years, we recommend Professional maintenance by the manufacturer or in a specialised workshop.
